Today, Padma’s  brother’s  daughter  is  getting  married  at  Ujre, Ramesh, Prabhaker , Ajith, and  Renuka  ars  attending  the  same.

Padma  and  Bhasker  wre  to  attend  the  same  ,but  Sharath  became  ill  and  had  to  be  admitted  into  a  hospital  .So  they  cancelled  their  trip 

Sharath  was  diagnosed  as  suffering  from  Typhoid.  He  is  now  recovering. Let  us  all  wish  him  a  very  speedy  recovery.

One  of  the  twin  sons  of  Drs. Ramesh Adiga  and  Jaya  Adiga  ,Shekar  married  a  South  Korean  lady, Ms. Jennifer  on  Nov.8^th  in  Chicago, Both  the 

bride  and  the  groom  have  studied  Law  and  Shekar  is  working  in  a  law  firm  snd  Jennifer  as   asst.  public  prosecutor  in  Indiana.

Let  us  all  wish  the  newly  married  couple  a  very  happy  ,long,  prosperous  eventful  and  blissful  married  life.Shekar nooyi, Raj Kishen,  Leela  and  Rama 

attended  the  marriage ,

Ananthakrishna  ,used  to  stay  either  at  the Taj  or  at  the  Oberoi  when  in  Mumbai  on  bank  duty.  Fortunately  he  stayed  in  Ramada  this  time.  So  he  escaped   the  danger  of  terrorism  .God  is  merciful!

After a long time, I  am  trying  to  keep  my  promise  of  updating  the  ADDOORMANE  blogsite.

After  the  Deepavali, the  kaarthika  maasa  starts.The  Mondays  of  this  maasa  is  specially  meant  for  the  worship  of  Lord  Shiva  in  our  household.  I  cannot  say  why  but  I shall  try  to  find  out  some time. Previously, .during  my  grandfather’s days, 

Lord  Shiva  was  worshipped  every  monday  in  this  month  .Our  family  purohith  would  come  ,and  recite  the  rudra  and  chamaka  11  times  .After  each  recitation  of

the  rudra,  and  part  of  chamaka ,  naivedya  of  aralu,  piece  of  jaggery , plantain  and  soaked  kadale,  is  offered  ,followed  by  aarathi  .After  the  11^th  recitation , mahapooja

is  performed  .after  the  usual  naivedya  of  1/2  seer  of  cooked  raw  rice, +paramaanna,  and  a  special  sweet  preparation After  the  pooja  the  purohith  is  pald  for  his  efforts  and  he  blesses  the  gathering.

.This  is  followed   by  a  feast  with  all  the  assembled  relatives

The  usual  menu  for  the  feast  are as  follows,

First  a  drop  or  two  of  ghee  is  sprinkled  on  the  washed  and  cleaned  plantain leaf,

Followed  by  a  spoonful  or  two  of  payasam  on  the lower   right  corner  of  the  leaf

Salt  on  the  left  top  corner,  pickles  next  to  it, next  kosambri  then  sasive, then  chutney  then  2  types  of  palya.  this  completes  the  upper  row.on  the  leaf.

Then  cooked  raw  rice  is  served,  followed  by  ghee. After  brahmarpana,  all  start  eating,  first  saaru  is  served followed  by  menaskaayi,  then  comes  bolhuli,  followed  by  the  sweet,which  is  served  on  the left  lower  corner of  the  leaf,  this  is  followed  by  kaayhuli, then  the  paramaanna,  and  lastly  curds  and  buttermilk,  this  completes  the  feast. During  the  feast  , dakshina  is  given  to  the  purohith  and  the  guests. 

 Nowadays  ,   because  of  so  many  constraints,  the  pooja  is  performed  only  on  one  of  the  Mondays  , convenient  to  both  us  ,our purohith  and  our  chef.

This  year,  this  was  performed  on  Monday  the  24^th  November, 2008.

Ajith.Sharadakka, Leelakka, Lola, Myself, Sushruth were  present. Sowmya also  came.

Mr.Anantha Bhat officiated  as  priest. His  sambhavane  for  this  function  was  Rs. 500/

Bharathi, Krishna, Bhamini and  the kids and Suma  could  not  attend  .

 

Dr.A.T.Krishna Rau  ,and  Dr. Aarathi  have  shifted  to  Bangalore.  He  has  joined  MSRamiah  Medical  College  as  Prof. and  HOD  of  paediatric  dept. and  Aarathi  as  Prof  of  pathology  in  the same  institution. Let  all of us  wish  them  all  the  very  best.

 

The  yearly  anniversary  of  Attige 2  was  performed  at  Srinivas Aithal.’s  on  26^th nov.

 

Our  purohith  Late  Vedamurthi  Polali  Vasudeva  Bhat’s  Varshaanthika  was  per  formed  at  their  house  in  Polali,  on  25^th  nov. Renuka  and  Ramesh  attended  the same..
